Whether it be photographing from beneath a herd of elephants or panning with a leopard mother and her cub, the Moments gallery is simply a collection of often familiar African subjects but captured in an unfamiliar way. The photographs in this collection may be the result of a special moment witnessed or they might have arisen from a different in-camera technique or setting. They might be the result of a unique angle and composition, or even a rare natural phenomenon. Whatever the reason, this chapter has been reserved for those rare and special images, the kind that a wildlife photographer cannot demand but that he must rather pursue, with relentless patience, passion and blind hope. These images have been painstakingly collected over the duration of more than a decade and are the result of thousands of hours spent in Africa’s wildest places. The photographs, although sometimes unbelievable, have not been digitally manipulated but have rather been created in the field and in the camera.
